P90X2 Release

P90X2 is available for preorder NOW.

That’s right the much anticipated, newest version to the revolutionary in-home workout program P90X is finally about to ARRIVE! Pre-order your copy NOW. This is the only way you will ENSURE that you receive your copy of P90X2 by DECEMBER 25, 2011. Yes, you and I are going to have to wait to get our hands on the newest version of P90X but trust me after what I’ve read about it and from what I heard Tony Horton himself say about it on the National Coaches’ Call last Monday (August 29, 2011), it will be well worth the wait!!! Here’s a short preview…..Get excited!

One of the main questions that I have been getting about P90X2 is what makes it different than P90X?”
Well, as Tony Horton himself put it yesterday, “P90X2 is not P90X harder, it is P90X different, as a result it will feel harder.” However, it was not designed to be the sequel to P90X as some, including me, might have assumed. Rather, it is the next-level of training and it is designed for the following groups of people: 1) Grads of Power 90, P90X, Insanity, Insanity the Asylum, TurboFire, and ChaLEAN Extreme and 2) Athletes who are looking to improve performance and/or former athletes looking to get back in shape. It is NOT a program for beginners and in fact it may not be for every P90X graduate, as might be assumed. Tony says, “You cannot come into P90X2 unfit.” P90X2 is not cardio-based; in fact there is only one cardio workout (Plyocide) in the entire 12 disc base kit. P90X2 is designed to help you get stronger, improve your core stability, improve your balance, help you feel more supple (lol), feel better, decrease your risk of injury, and help you “jump higher, run faster, and be more explosive.” And P90X2 is only 5 days a week.

Finally, one of the biggest differences in P90X2 versus P90X is the flexibility in each of its phases. There will still be the three phases of training. However, the phases are a bit more flexible in terms of the lengths of time recommended for each, to allow for individual differences in training and adaptation. Here is a description of the three phases of P90X2:

Phase One – Foundation
Roughly 3 to 5 Weeks
In phase one, you can expect to move better, feel better, and reduce likelihood of injury.
This phase is all about improving your foundation, or building up fitness in stabilization muscles in the body.

Phase Two – Strength
Roughly 3 to 6 weeks
This phase is going to be HARD….VERY HARD. In phase 2, you can expect to get stronger through a wider range of
motion, get more supple, and LOOK GOOD. :)
Phase 2 will combine strength and stability. In this phase you can expect to do exercises like push-ups while
your hands and feet are on balls and levers, which are a brutal pull up move.

Phase 3 – Performance
Roughly 3 to 4 weeks
This is where it’s at folks. Improve your performance, become a better athlete. Improve your performance,
improve your fitness.
In phase 3, you can expect to jump higher, run faster, and be more explosive and to start to feel like a kid
again.
In phase 3 of P90X you will use P.A.P training (Post Activation Potentiation)

As described to me by Dave Ward, P.A.P. “only works in conditioned athletes only, so you don’t want to even attempt this type of workout until you’ve done the work in the other Phases or you could get hurt. P.A.P. increases the production of muscle cell motor units adding explosive power. For example, P90X2 will have you doing a weighted resistance exercise prior to an explosive exercise. That type of training results in amazing muscle growth.” To be sure that P90X2 got this type of training right, Beachbody brought in fitness expert Dr. Marcus Elliott of P3 Training (Peak Performance Project). Dr. Elliott works with professional athletes who want to take their athleticism and performance to the next level. He is the person who is responsible for the fact that P.A.P training only appears in phase 3 of P90X2 because only a well conditioned body is capable of doing this type of training.

The P90X2 Nutrition
Much different than P90X, MORE VERSATILE, and broader in scope. At long last, the P90X2 plan incorporates nutrition specific to the needs and wants of VEGANS, VEGETARIANS, those who have Gluten Allergies, and those who follow the Paleo diet, as well as an assortment of other nutritional foundations and theories. In fact, there are 27 different nutrition plans in the P90X2 Nutrition guide. Pretty awesome, huh?
